Full Course Description:
Most of our time at the design table is riddled with bits and pieces of training as the shop owner/designer/others try to teach us on the job. We rarely have anyone telling us where our skill level is or what we can do to improve those skills.
We also see others designing in competitions to win prize money and earn recognition in the industry, but do not know if we have what it takes to try it. What happens when someone competes at that level? Do you have what it takes? If you never know, you may not ever try.
This course revisits the elements and principles of design and what evaluators look for when judging for competitions and certification. Those who participate in the Professional Floral Design Evaluation (PFDE) after taking at least one prep course and working with at least one mentor are 85 percent more likely to have a successful outcome. Even those who are just interested in improving on their ability to design in a tight time frame and with unexpected products will gain a greater knowledge of what needs improvement and how to prepare to become a Certified Floral Designer (CFD).
With the new CFD program that AIFD endorses, you can participate and achieve your National CFD designation through the Floriology Institute. Come join us as we participate in a duplication of the PFDE design evaluation with AIFD-certified instructors to dissect your designs and provide feedback on what needs works and how to better prepare for any competition and certification.
